Ayers Hand Woven
Ayers Hand Woven has been in business since 2001 and is located in
Grover Beach, California. All the scarves, shawls and throws are hand
woven with great care to create a quality woven product. All the yarns
and fibers are personally selected by Rick Ayers, who is a Fiber Artist.
Rick Ayers was introduced to weaving in elementary school where the
summer activity program encouraged the weaving of pot holders. Rick
has been spinning since the mid-1980's. With the love of spinning, he
has spun all kinds of animal fibers including wool, mixed with Angora,
cashmere, and silk. Synthetic yarns are woven for sensitive skin.
Through the encouragement of his wife, Julie, Rick started to explore
various weaving techniques in the early 1990's. Creativity and pure
enjoyment was the birth of Ayers Hand Woven. Every scarf and shawl is
hand-woven by Julie or Rick and is an original design of Ayers Hand Woven.
Julie purely enjoys arts and crafts along with figure drawing and
painting. Weaving has become an extension of her passion for the
creative process. She has been weaving since 2002 and has found
there is no end to the variety of colors and textures in the fiber arts.
One of her joys is creating a new canvas each time she starts a project.
